SCHOOL CLOSED TO PUPILS FOR STAFF TRAINING
First day of term 3
This week will see the launch of Storytelling Week with a production of Cinderella, directed and performed by drama students from the University of the West of England. What a treat!
The BIG news!
We are very lucky to have Tracy Alexander returning to school. She will be coming into school to offer storytelling workshops to the junior children.
For more information on Tribe see www.tribers.co.uk
For more information on T. M. Alexander see www.tmalexander.com and read her blog.
If your child would like to purchase a book, please fill in the form on the back of this letter and send in the money or cheque by Monday 30th January in an envelope. This way, the children won’t be disappointed if their choice gets sold out! Alternatively, they can bring in money on the day, in a named envelope.
On Wednesday, all of the year groups will be mixing up for a day of fun! They will visit each teacher and will learn lots of new stories. There will also be a ‘Storysack Making Workshop’ for parents at 2:30pm. Please let the office know if you will attend.
On Thursday, the infant children will receive drama workshops held by students from the University of the West of England. I’m sure we have some budding actors!
As a special treat, Miss Jackson will run a ‘Magical Storytelling Night’ after school on Thursday 2nd February, where the children can come back to school in their pyjamas, bring a sleeping bag or cushion, along with their favourite teddy and have a hot chocolate and marshmallows. All of this, whilst cosying up and listening to some wonderful stories! To ensure there are enough marshmallows, please sign the form below to confirm if your child will be coming.
Finally, on Friday 3rd February, the children will be invited to come into school dresses as their favourite character from a Traditional Tale. This will be a non-school uniform day and we would like children to bring in a silver donation. Prizes for the best costumes will be awarded in Storytelling Assembly.
Storytelling Assembly will be held on Friday 3rd February at 2:15pm to which all parents are invited. This will be a celebration of the work children have produced throughout the week.
Thanking you for your continued support.
