Classes - Sycamore
Sycamore class is back again! We are a bubbly mixed year 1/Year 2 class full of ideas and fun. There are 21 of us and we have a lovely colourful classroom with an interavtive whiteboard, a cosy book corner and lots of exciting things to do.
Miss Pope and Mrs Parker look after us well and they encourage us to work really hard...but they know how to help us to have fun too.
We have book bags and we can take books home every night to read with our families. We also have books from the reading scheme and we can take these home to practise reading too.
Our Class Link Governor is Mike Hackett.
We are delighted to welcome Miss Helen Pope to our staff team. It is particularly exciting to be re-opening Sycamore class which went missing in September 2003 when the number of pupils on the school roll fell. We now have a very thriving Infant department and have been able to add in a new class. Miss Pope is young and enthusiastic and trained to teach this age group of children.
Miss Pope recently completed her teacher training and then spent a very valuable year supply teaching in Bristol and travelling. During her travels she visited schools in New Zealand to look at their systems of education and see what she could learn from them. Her supply days in Bristol were enormously helpful in providing her with a broad range of experiences in the classroom and lots of ideas for behaviour management! The childen enjoy the work they are given and show enthusiasm about coming to school.
